Welcome to Residence Life at Colorado Mountain College

COVID19 Update for the Fall 2021 Semester – February 17, 2021

The Colorado Mountain College Office of Residence Life holds health & safety as our top priority as we make decisions for the Fall 2021 semester. As we continue to work through the changing recommendations regarding COVID-19, we ask for your patience & flexibility.

Apply for Housing:  Applications for the 2021-2022 academic year are available on the Res Life Portal on Basecamp.

Room Assignments:  Most residents will be placed in a double occupancy room. Your room number and your roommate’s contact information will be sent to your CMC email address late summer.

For students requesting a single room, there is an additional charge of $1100 for the semester. Single rooms are limited and will be confirmed late summer based on building occupancy. If a single room is not available, CMC will match you with a roommate and your roommate’s contact information will be sent to your CMC email address late summer.

Classes:  Academic Affairs has worked diligently to deliver classes in a variety of formats to meet health & safety goals. There are several programs that will deliver the coursework fully online and others that will require in person attendance. We encourage you to discuss your academic program with your Campus Coordinator of Enrollment Services to determine if living on campus is the right choice for you.

Dining Services:  Dine-In vs Grab-n-Go meal service for the 2021-2022 academic year has not been determined at this time.

COVID-19:  The first and highest priority is the safety and well-being of our residents and staff.  Starting August 1, 2021 all students and employees residing in the residence hall will be required to demonstrate proof of COVID vaccination in addition to the MMR & meningitis vaccinations that were required prior to the pandemic. Students will need to be fully vaccinated before moving into the residence halls.

In order to be fully-vaccinated before your arrival, we recommend that you schedule your COVID vaccine immediately.  The CDC defines “fully vaccinated” as 2 weeks after receiving the 2nd shot of a two-dose vaccine or 2 weeks after the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

CMC will develop a process for verifying your COVID vaccination in accordance with applicable legal and health guidelines. Also, CMC will develop a process for obtaining a medical or non-medical exemption for students required to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.  More information on exemptions will be available soon.  If you choose to opt-out of the vaccination requirement, you must be prepared to vacate the residence hall immediately should an outbreak occur.

Just Getting Started at CMC: Please contact the Campus Coordinator of Enrollment Services at your campus for New Student Registration & Orientation Information.

Spring Valley: 970-947-8200

Steamboat Springs: 970-870-4444

Leadville: 719-486-4394

As much as we want campus life to return to normal, we know that we need to adjust to what college life means during a pandemic. Please monitor your CMC email address for additional information. If state or local government and/or CMC Leadership prohibits the residence hall from opening, we will contact you immediately. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you in August.
